We’ve got another treat for you this week.
Following on from our beer tasting evening with the guys from Two Cocks Brewery this Thursday (13th 6-8pm), we’re showcasing some premium Hungarian on wines on Friday with Csaba Toth from Tokaji Merchants. Csaba imports a small, but very high quality range of wine from his home country.
He’ll be opening two wines we already stock in the store, plus a third one just for the night.
Lenkey Vilmany 2007 (Hungary £24.00)
A few year’s age has given this off-dry blend of Furmint & Hárslevelű a rich, honeyed texture with apricot & lemon flavours. You’ll like this if you enjoy aged Alsace Rieslings.
Grof Buttler Egri Bikaver 2008 (Hungary £22.00)
Yes, it’s Bulls Blood. But probably not as you remember it. A smooth, elegant, complex blend of five grapes including Pinot Noir, Merlot & Hungarian grape Kadarka.
Remember, it costs nothing and there’s never any obligation to buy. Bottles are open from 6-8pm.
