This weekend we thought we would showcase a couple of our French favourites, both of which are brilliant for summer (there’s optimism for you!) and both of which have recently moved to a new vintage (so even if you’ve tried them before, you’ll want to see how this one compares to the last).
Chateau Thieuley Bordeaux Blanc Sec 2013 (France £13.55)
While the vibrant aromas of Sauvignon Blanc & Gris initially hog the limelight, this is in fact 50% Semillon which adds texture, a subtle smokiness plus a big dollop of interest.
Couly-Dutheil Chinon Rouge Gravieres 2012 (France £13.50)
Juicy blackcurrants with a green, leafy edge, the calling card of Cabernet Franc. A good match for quail and other game birds…
Wines will be open from Friday at 6pm and Saturday at 2pm and all the usual Park+Bridge tasting rules apply: it’s all completely free and there’s absolutely no obligation to do anything except enjoy yourself.
