Grapes for the Nino Franco Rustico (£15.50) come from the hillside slopes of Valdobbiadene, where the best Prosecco is made. The grapes are handpicked (machines are used for the cheaper Prosecco grown on the Veneto plains). It is crisp, pure and blossomy. And – get this – we have it in magnum size too (£31).
We will also be opening a sparkling rosé brut from Nino Franco called Faìve (£17.50) – which means bonfire sparks in the local dialect. Made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, it makes a great apéritif but you could also drink it throughout a meal: roasted pork belly, chicken, salmon, pasta with roasted Mediterranean vegetables…. perhaps even a quattro stagioni pizza or something a little piccante.
The bubbles will be open from 6-8pm on Friday AND we’ll be doing it all again from 2-6pm on Saturday.
